Ready, set, SHOP!

The Nutcracker Market has joined the FCCW family of partners with their very own podcast. On October 6th, we launch Ready, Set, Shop: The One and Only Nutcracker Market.

Before I go any further, I must thank my mom, who connected me with Patsy Chapman, the market’s CEO. After all these years—forty-seven to be exact—Mom still has my back.

As you know, the Nutcracker Market gets coverage by all the media outlets. So I had to make sure to offer them something nobody else was offering: a podcast series.

With their own podcast, this world famous event will get to spotlight ten different merchants. And because it’s their podcast, they own the audio. They own the video. All of it. And they can repurpose their content however they want, whenever they want.

Soon, brands of all sizes (who haven’t already) will have to jump into the podcasting arena. There was a time when every good business person had to have a business card. Then it was a website. Then social media presence. Now, we’ve reached the next stage. Podcasts.

Although this partnership is a huge win for FCCW, it’s more about the Nutcracker Market, the Houston Ballet Foundation, and the hundreds of small businesses who you’ll see in November.

I have seen firsthand what the this event has done for the small business community across America, and Houston’s thriving cultural arts scene. So it is an honor to play a small role in its imminent success this year.

During this limited run series, you’ll hear from a former principal ballerina for the Houston Ballet who’s now a luxury jeweler, an entrepreneur whose soap company provides jobs for women in recovery and the disabled, an artisan who makes home decor using things like rail spikes and old wine barrels, and more. And, I’ll be your guest host along the way.

So before you head out to NRG Center next month, binge listen to the podcast. And grab your tickets for the Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market HERE. And don’t forget, ticket sales and 11% of merchandise sales will benefit the Houston Ballet Foundation.
